METAL DETECTORS AT PARK ENTRANCES

The safety of our guests and associates is our number one priority. We need your assistance in an effort to make the park entry process as efficient as possible. Here's how you can help:
  • Please leave all non-essential purses, backpacks, book bags, fanny packs and other bags and packages at home or locked in the trunk of your car.
  • Please understand that ALL vehicles, packages and persons are subject to search upon entry. You will be asked to open purses, backpacks or other bags for inspection upon entry. Please note that food and drinks MAY NOT be brought into the park.
  • Weapons of any kind and illegal substances are not permitted on Kings Island property. If these items are found during a search, the items and the individual may be turned over to law enforcement.

THE BEST TIME TO VISIT

Plan to visit the park when attendance is lightest. Best bets: weekdays during the summer and any day during the months of April, May and October. Don't let a few clouds, or even rain, keep you from enjoying a great day at Kings Island. Days with inclement weather can be the best time to visit because lines are short and fewer guests are in the park. The park is open as scheduled (usually with almost all rides operating), rain or shine.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING

Appropriate swimwear for Boomerang Bay Water Park (exceptionally revealing swimwear is not permitted), a jacket or sweatshirt for cool evenings (you can store them in lockers at the Front Gate or in Boomerang Bay). Bring sunscreen, lip protection and a hat or sun visor to protect yourself from the summer sun. Of course, if you forget them, these items, as well as swimwear can be purchased in the park.

Wear comfortable, broken-in shoes. Wear cotton clothing: it's light and dries quickly on water rides, such as Whitewater Canyon and Congo Falls. You may want to bring an extra pair of dry socks.

GETTING AROUND THE PARK

Park maps are available at the toll booths or at the Front Gate as you enter the park. As you enter the park through the Front Gate, proceed to the right, instead of the left, to help avoid crowds. Visit major attractions early or later in the day to avoid longer lines in the afternoon.

Plan your meals at non-conventional times to help avoid restaurant and food stand lines. Visit roller coasters and other major attractions during traditional meal times to help avoid their longer lines.

OTHER GOOD IDEAS. . .

  • Little ones are especially susceptible to the sun. Apply an adequate amount of sunscreen on your children before you start your day at the park.
  • Pack some moist towelettes or washcloths to wash off sticky hands and faces throughout the day.
  • Before you set out, designate a specific place for family members to meet if they should become separated.
  • Get input from each family member as to what he or she wants to do. Plan your day of activities built in with several breaks. Remember, this is supposed to be an enjoyable day at the park - not a marathon!

Enjoy yourself and have fun!
